The following events happen on a very regular basis. For more information about any of these, please get in touch with us. We love guests at these events!
Ladies Bible Class
Every Tuesday from 1:00-2:00 pm, our ladies meet for a special Bible study. This class has been going on for many years, and it has one goal: to study the Bible in depth. A rotation of faithful women teach this class, which is designed to center everything on the text in a verse-by-verse and systematic way. The class currently meets in our auditorium to allow for social distancing, and ladies of any age are always welcome to visit and take part.
Silverliners
Every few weeks, our “silveliners” group enjoys a meal and game day. This group, mostly made up of older members, enjoys being together and fellowshipping on these Fridays. Periodically, they also take special trips to various locations in our area for picnics, shopping, and fun.
Men’s Breakfast
Typically held on the second Saturday of each month at 8:00, our men get together for a wonderful breakfast and a short period of devotion. These times are designed to help our men enjoy being together while also giving them time to still have most of their Saturday to spend with their family.
Teens in the Word
Every other Thursday evening during the school year, our teens gather in a home for two hours of time together. About 45 minutes is spent eating and in fellowship, then well over an hour is spent being involved in in-depth Bible study. Members of the congregation provide a wonderful meal. All teens are welcome to take part in this study.
Annual/Semi-Regular Events
Blood Drives
Central believes in helping our community. One way we do that is to hold blood drives for the American Red Cross. Typically, we hold 2-3 annually (often in February, June, and October). Of course, guests are welcome to take part in donating. To learn more about drives in your area, or when Central will be hosting, visit the American Red Cross website.
Vacation Bible School
Each Summer, Central hosts an engaging Vacation Bible School for young people of all ages and grades. While we have a lot of fun, our emphasis is always on the Scriptures, as we immerse children in lessons that are in-depth. Teachers go all out decorating rooms and having activities that reinforce the lessons.
Each year, we are encouraged by the attendance of many guests, and we would love to have your child be with us each summer for VBS! (Make sure to check the calendar at the top of this page for dates when they are posted, or contact us anytime to learn more.)
Ladies’ Day
Each September, our ladies invite a guest speaker for a special day of study and fellowship. They make beautiful decorations and the meal—served by the men of the congregation—is a delightful way to end the day together.
Gospel Meeting
Central hosts a special series of lessons each October in our annual Gospel Meeting. A guest speaker is brought in to deliver up to 6 sermons to help us learn more about God and His Word. Guests are always encouraged to attend to hear these special lessons.
Future scheduled speakers include:
2024: David Powell (Jackson, TN)
2025: Kevin Hahn (Humble, TX)
Holiday Banquet
Each December, all of our members who are 65 and older are honored with a banquet and entertainment by everyone who is 64 and younger. The night consists of a delicious meal prepared by members, wholesome, fun entertainment (by some very talented folks!), and lots of pictures and laughs. It is a night to show “honor to whom honor is due.”
Retreats
Central holds retreats for our ladies, men, and youth groups each year. These times are set aside for groups to get together in a relaxed setting to enjoy one another’s company and to study God’s Word together in a way that encourages them in the faith.
